Tom Feeney Receives the Spirit of Enterprise Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce
(Washington, D.C.) - U.S. Rep. Tom Feeney (R-Oviedo) issued the following statement regarding his score from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and receipt of the Chamber's prestigious Spirit of Enterprise Award:
"Hardworking Central Floridians deserve leaders with economic policies that will make their lives easier as they face high gas prices, increasing property taxes and skyrocketing insurance costs. It is imperative in America's dynamic economic system that we have permanent reductions and increased simplicity within the tax code. Now is certainly not the time to impose San Francisco-style tax hikes on Floridaâs families,"said Feeney.
Tom Donohue, Chamber president and CEO said, "Representative Feeney has proven to be an effective ally to the business community, supporting legislation that helps grow the economy and creates new jobs for hardworking Americans. The Chamber's prestigious Spirit of Enterprise Award is given annually to members of Congress based on rankings it gives for key business votes outlined in its yearly publication How They Voted.
These designated key votes are recorded floor votes on issues established as priorities on which the Chamber communicates its position prior to the vote. Those members of Congress who support the Chamberâs position on at least 70% of those votes receive the award.
