(Oviedo, FL) - Tom Feeney (R-Oviedo) today announced his plans to immediately return to the Capitol to demand that Speaker Pelosi return from her book tour and call Congress back into session to lower energy prices that are crippling small businesses, tourism and Central Florida families:
"Over the last week, I have heard loud and clear that Central Floridians want a comprehensive energy plan that lowers energy prices today and maps out a plan for Americaâs future to remove our dependence on foreign oil. Everyone I speak to has been impacted by rising energy prices at the pump, on their air conditioning bill, and at the grocery store.
"Last week, I urged my constituents to mail me their gas receipts and flood Nancy Pelosi's voicemail to insist that she allow an up or down vote on The American Energy Act that provides a comprehensive plan to unleash all of America's energy resources. Since she is still on her dismal book tour ignoring the calls from hardworking Americans to address rising gas prices, I plan to return immediately to the Capitol to promote my energy action plan. Whenever liberals decide they are willing to vote on a plan for American energy, American businesses, American workers, and American families, I will be there." said Feeney.
Tom Feeney will speak on the House floor Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. and join his colleagues for a press conference at 11:00 a.m.
