Statement from Central Florida Veterans Denouncing Kosmas' Dishonest TV AD
This week, we have all seen Kosmas' dishonest television ad misleading Veterans and Central Florida voters. Her ad repeatedly cites Tom's 2007 vote on HR 2642 which he immediately corrected in the Congressional Record. Earlier this week, we sent letters to the General Managers of each TV station and cable system asking them to pull the ad. Florida Today has the story here and the Orlando Sentinel has it here.
Today, Central Florida Veterans leaders released a statement denouncing Kosmas' dishonest TV ad:
Dear Neighbor,
We have known and worked with Congressman Tom Feeney for much of his 18-year public career. He is a principled and effective public servant that Florida's veterans can depend on.
Suzanne Kosmas' congressional campaign is currently running a dishonest television ad that misleads veterans about Rep. Feeney's support.
We ask her to do the honorable thing and remove the ad. We also ask Ms. Kosmas to refrain from misleading attacks that are a disservice to our Veterans, the families of those currently serving in combat zones, and the voters of Central Florida.
Tom Feeney led the fight to secure funding for the Orlando VA hospital and has a long record of support on issues important to veterans, our military families and those currently serving in harm's way. No one that knows Tom questions his commitment to our veterans and we are proud to support him.
Sincerely,
Jerry Pierce

* Kosmas is knowingly deceiving veterans and Central Florida voters about Tomâs veterans record
* Tom Feeney led the fight for the Orlando VA Hospital â a top priority for him since he was elected to Congress. Tom fought and secured federal funds for this critical hospital to bring the resources to service this ever growing population to Central Florida.
* Tom Feeney is a cosponsor of the Concurrent Receipt legislation ensuring that those who have been disabled in the line of duty are not penalized by losing other benefits.
* Yesterday, we celebrated the VA Hospital Land Purchase. Clearly, while political smears are coming at him from the other side, Tom Feeney is focused on working for his district and America and continues to be a leader and achieve results.
* Tom Feeney cosponsored the GI Bill update to increase education benefits for our men and women who have served this country so selflessly.
* Tom Feeney has been vocal in his effort to protect delivery of military ballots
* Tom Feeney signed the Disabled American Veterans Pledge
* Tom Feeney SUPPORTS the Fair Benefits for Guard and Reserve Act
